What is Abundance?
At its core, abundance is the state of having more than enough of something. Abundance describes a situation of overflowing wealth, resources and opportunities. However, abundance is not just about having a lot of material things.
True abundance comes from a mindset of openness and gratitude. An abundant mindset appreciates what you have, rather than focusing on what you lack. It sees possibility in every situation and finds opportunities all around.
How can we feel scarcity when we are swimming in abundance? Just look around: the sky, the sun, nature. We open a faucet and water comes out. We turn a switch on and we enjoy electricity. Reflect on the amazing mechanisms that are taking place right now in your body – blood circulating, heart pumping, food being digested, our skin shedding every 13 days, our organs being replaced naturally at their own pace, and the work of about 40 trillion cells. And we hear nothing, no activity!!
When we feel abundant, we feel lucky to be alive and we are aware that every minute on this earth is precious. We have a sense of gratitude for our health, for our loved ones and even for the basic comforts in life that, many times, we take for granted.
Abundance is also about giving and sharing what you have. When you feel abundant, you naturally want to share your resources and talents with others. You realize that by giving, you receive even more abundance in return. An abundant world is one where everyone has enough of what they need to thrive.
So abundance is not just about having a lot of money or a lot of things. It’s about being content with what you have and sharing freely with others. It’s a mindset that values experiences over possessions and finds joy in simplicity. An abundant life is one lived with an open heart, filled with gratitude for each day. It is seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Maintaining an energy of abundance is crucial to achieve abundant results. If we ever operate from a mindset of scarcity, fear, and lack, we will be limiting our potential and restricting our creativity, productivity, and growth.
When you have an abundant mindset, you think expansively, you envision big possibilities, and view challenges as opportunities rather than threats. We believe there are enough resources, opportunities, and ideas to go around. This breeds a spirit of generosity, collaboration, and sharing that helps us to perform at our best.
If we cultivate an abundance mindset, we will tend to set higher goals and stretch targets, because we believe that achieving ambitious goals is possible.
Feeling abundant in a group
Being part of a group has tremendous benefits. The group serves as a support system, and it is easier to believe we can accomplish our goals through the combined efforts of the members.
This goal-setting behavior drives the group to constantly improve, innovate and push the boundaries of what they think is possible. An energy of abundance also fosters trust and psychological safety within the group. Members feel free to speak up, take risks, and propose novel ideas without fear of criticism or judgment. This open communication and idea sharing is essential for groups to come up with their most innovative and impactful solutions.
Clearly, maintaining an abundance mentality as a group allows members to unleash their full potential, focus their collective energy on opportunities rather than limitations, and achieve results that exceed what any individual could accomplish alone.
An energy of abundance becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy that galvanizes both the group and the individual to live up to its highest aspirations.
