Topic of the day:
Taming our Sparks of Irritation
Gaining Control of your Irritability
Every day we face situations that spark irritation within us – someone close to us does not live up to our expectations, a rude driver cuts us off in traffic, a co-worker takes credit for our work, a child ignores our requests……..
These sparks of irritation, if not kept in check, can grow into anger and even resentment that impact our health, relationships, and happiness. We can become easily irritated and impatient on any given day.
It is not something we plan, of course. It usually happens unexpectedly. We observe someone doing something we don’t agree with, or we are having a conversation with someone, and the person says something, and we immediately feel something inside us suddenly twist into a knot of disapproval.
We may even take it personally and we instantaneously feel our intolerance arising. Some of us may even feel angry if we are contradicted. These experiences can have a profound impact on our stress level which in turn will affect our emotions and ultimately our health.
In our next Tuesday gathering, on April 30, we will explore ways to tame that reactivity, and feel calmer even in the midst of a struggle or a conflict. Fortunately, small practices add up and, when applied consistently, can reduce our suffering and allow us to inhabit a peaceful and more fulfilling space.
Come & join us to learn tips
to retrain our brain to respond instead of reacting to triggers.
Taming our Sparks of Irritation.
