The Format
This retreat will combine the fertile atmosphere of silence with extensive time
- to enjoy self reflection and guidance on how to meet our emotions with compassion
- to enjoy a mindfulness talk with time for Q&A periods
- for both guided and silent meditations
- for mindful eating
- for rest periods
- for mindful walking both inside and outside on the beautiful grounds, and quiet time in nature.
- We encourage participants to maintain silence as a way to get to know yourself better.
- In silence, you may discover that you always have a choice. You can live each moment either with inattention, fear and judgment or with awareness, curiosity and kindness.
What to Expect
- We’ll start with a grounding guided meditation, flow into many different mindfulness practices throughout the day in which you can enjoy the scenic grounds, enjoy a mindfulness talk and wrap up with a reflective Q&A.
- We’ll provide a light salad for lunch, but you are welcome to bring your own lunch. We’ll provide water and tea to keep you refreshed.
- The silence will end at 4:30 pm, and then we will devote 45 minutes for questions and answers.
- The retreat will be over at 5:15 pm.
Why Should I Take a Silent Retreat if I Live Alone?
- Being in a silent retreat gives you the opportunity to specifically set aside a time to train your brain to see clearly without the distractions available at home.
-
No more scrolling through social media or raiding the fridge to avoid tough feelings—this is your chance to pause and reflect
No phone. No emails. Just you and the present moment. - On retreat, you will learn how to face your emotions instead of running away from them. You will be guided on how to deal with whatever comes up in the moment.
- A daylong silent retreat gives you the opportunity to set an intention for the day, and engage in a mindfulness practice along with a community of people working towards the same goal: bringing mindfulness to their lives.
- The energy of all the people on retreat is powerful and conducive to realizing our goals.
