Quiet the mind and the soul will speak ~ Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati

In our Retreat there will be moments of silence,
and moments in which you will be encouraged to share comments, thoughts and experiences.

Sound Healing: Mia Moon, Reike Master, will lead us into a deeply restorative sound healing experience. Through the sacred vibrations of crystal singing bowls, chimes, and intuitive sound, you’ll be guided into a meditative state where the body can release tension, the mind can quiet, and the spirit can realign, allowing the healing frequencies to clear energy blocks, restore balance, and awaken inner peace.

Sheng Zhen – QiGong:  Jill Penaloza -LCPAT, ATR-BC, CGP – teaches Sheng Zhen, a system of movement and non-movement with ties to the ancient practice of qigong, an internal healing art. Jill studied with world renowned teachers Master Li Junfeng and Master Li Jing.  Those who practice Sheng Zhen experience the revitalizing of mind and body as the heart begins to open, and   enhanced sense of well-being.

Prior to her corporate work and private practice,  Jill was a mental health staff clinician at Strong Memorial Hospital and a group program director at Genesee Hospital in Rochester, New York. She has worked with non-profit and private organizations across the United States and presented and taught at AACC Women’s Institute, Maryland Psychological Association, Rochester NY City School District, CHADD Maryland, and the Washington DC Department of Corrections.

The Format

  • to engage in meaningful discussions that will raise your awareness
  • for both guided and silent meditations

  • There will be moments when we will encourage everyone to maintain silence as a way to get to know yourself better.
  • There will be moments when you will be encouraged to participate in enlightening conversations.
  • Through the retreat you  may discover that you always have a choice. You can  live each moment either with inattention, fear and judgment or with awareness, curiosity and kindness.

What to Expect

  • We’ll provide a light salad for lunch, but you are welcome to bring your own lunch. We’ll provide water and tea to keep you refreshed.
  • We will be silent during different times of the day to encourage self reflection. After the talks, a period of Q&A will follow, and  sharing comments and experiences will be welcome.
  • The retreat will be over at 5:15 pm.

Why Should I Take a Retreat if I Live Alone?

  • Being in a retreat gives you the opportunity to specifically set aside a time to train your brain to see clearly without the distractions available at home.
  • No more scrolling through social media or raiding the fridge to avoid tough feelings—this is your chance to pause and reflect
No phone. No emails. Just you and the present moment.
  • On retreat, you will learn how to face your emotions instead of running away from them. You will be guided on how to deal with whatever comes up in the moment.
  • A daylong retreat gives you the opportunity to set an intention for the day, and engage in mindfulness practices along with a community of people working towards the same goal: bringing mindfulness to their lives.
  • The energy of all the people on retreat is powerful, inspiring  and conducive to realizing our goals.

Who will lead this retreat?

Guided by Monica Jordan (M.Ed., MCMBT), this retreat offers a supportive space to explore mindfulness and a guided journey into stillness. Monica brings 25 years of mindfulness expertise to guide you with warmth, infinite support and the wisdom she has gathered from ancient traditions.
