This quote encapsulates a powerful lesson we need to learn about valuing oneself and setting boundaries:
“This year, I learned to step away from people and spaces where I don’t feel valued.
I stopped overexplaining, forcing connections, and seeking validation from others. I trusted my intuition, set boundaries, and removed my energy without guilt.
I realized that protecting my peace is essential and that choosing myself is the greatest act of self-love.”
Isn’t that just so on point? Many of us find ourselves bending over backwards to please others, even when it means compromising our own needs and boundaries.
We’d stay in toxic friendships or work situations because we may be afraid of being alone or burning bridges. But is it worth it?
This year, I invite you to make a conscious decision to start putting yourself first.
If someone or something isn’t serving you in a positive way, give yourself permission to walk away without guilt or overexplaining yourself. Stop seeking external validation and start trusting your gut instincts about what is right for you.
You will soon find out how incredibly freeing it is!
By removing your energy from draining situations and people, you will be able to focus on nurturing the relationships and pursuits that truly matter to you. Protecting your peace of mind should become a top priority.
Choosing yourself is the greatest act of self-love. It’s about setting boundaries, trusting your intuition, and unapologetically making your own wellbeing a priority.
I invite you to make a conscious decision to start putting yourself first. Stop seeking external validation and start trusting your inner voice.
It’s not always easy, but this challenge will open up new doors of self confidence!
Here’s to continuing that journey of self-love in the year ahead.

This content came at the exact right time! Thank you Monica, for reminding me it’s okay to prioritize my needs and desires. This idea feels right— and is worth trying because I can attest that people-pleasing and seeking others’ approval never did bring me peace. Time to ring in the new year with a fresh approach!
